Last May, a second miracle was attributed to Carlo and recognized by Pope Francis, a decision that paved the way for his canonization.

The final step in his canonization took place on Monday, when the Vatican announced that the Pope had ordered his canonization as the cardinals convened by the pope voted in favor of her along with 14 others. The second miracle attributed to Acutis relates to the reported treatment of a Costa Rican girl who had suffered a head injury after falling from her bicycle in Florence, Italy, where she was studying. Her mother said she prayed for her daughter’s recovery at the tomb of Acutis in Assisi.
