Leonardo Nascimento will compete in the PAOK men’s volleyball team next season. The amateur “two-headed” announced the acquisition of the 29-year-old Brazilian extreme “bomber” for the next year, in order to strengthen the ends of the attack.
Nascimento has had a great career in Brazil and Europe.
In detail, the announcement:
“PAOK and the men’s volleyball department announce the start of cooperation with the athlete, Leonardo Nascimento, for the 2024-2025 season.
Born in Brazil on 16/03/1995, Leonardo Nascimento plays as a winger and is 201cm tall.
He made his first professional steps in the 2013-14 season from Santa Cruzeiro II, being at the same time international with the U19, U21 and U23 of his country, with which he won three South American championships and a bronze medal at the World Championship.
In the 2016-17 season, he rose to the first team of Santa Cruzeiro, winning the Brazilian league, the Brazilian Super Cup, the Mineiro league, the South American league, but also the World Club Championship.
The following season (2017-18) found him in JF volleyball, while at the same time his excellent performances opened the door to the Brazilian men’s national team, as he competed with the “seleção” in the Pan American Cup, as well as in the Volleyball Nations League.
In the 2018-19 season, he returned to Santa Cruzeiro again, with which he added to his collection a Brazilian Cup, a Mineiro Championship and a South American Championship.
In the 2019-20 season, he competed for the first time outside of Brazil, playing in Turkey and more specifically in Sport Toto. He remained in the Turkish team the following season (2020-21), winning the Turkish Cup, while at the same time his performances helped the team’s very good progress in the CEV Cup.
The 2021-22 season found him back in Brazil, this time on behalf of Fiat Gerdau Minas, with whom he won the Brazilian Cup.
His return to Europe came the following season (2022-23), this time playing in France with Montpellier. With the latter, he won the French Super Cup, while also competing in the top interclub competition, the CEV Champions League.
The previous season (2023-24), he played in Brazil for Joinville, winning the Catarinese championship.
Regarding the start of cooperation with PAOK, Leonardo Nascimento stated on the club’s official website, acpaok.gr: “I am very happy to become a member of this excellent team. I can’t wait for the season to start so I can meet my new teammates and my new coaching staff. I will give my best so that the team can achieve its high goals.”
