European Youth Table Tennis Championship: In Malmö our National teams

The National Youth Table Tennis Teams on Wednesday completed their preparation on Greek soil and, via Copenhagen, are expected to be in the Swedish city early Thursday afternoon. The games start next Friday, will last until the 21st of the month and will bring together hundreds of athletes from every corner of Europe.

In “Baltiska Hallen & Malmo Isstadion” our country will be represented by nine boys, six girls and four coaches.

The teenagers Alexandros Madesis (athlete of AEK), Stathis Manolopoulos (OEA Rethymno), Alexandros Alexopoulos (DAO Tavrou), Yannis Koutras (AO Poseidon Loutraki), Dimitris Sotiropoulos (Athina Maggoufanas) coached by Costas Madesis (coach of AEK) will take part ).

Also, the juniors Evangelia Meramvelliotaki (GAO Piraeus), Stella Tzaridou (HAN Thessaloniki), Zoi Kazakou (GAO Piraeus), Angeliki Eumorfiadis (PKD Tavrou) with Giorgos Christoforakis (Olympiakos) in charge.

The program always opens with the group stage and the groups have emerged since June. The draws for the individual competitions will take place next Sunday.

Greece in the team has the boys in the A category (that is, in the first 16 teams after promotion last year in Poland) and the rest of the groups in the B.

In the first group of children, they have to face Poland, France and Germany. In the tenth group of teenagers, our country has been drawn with Norway, Bosnia and Malta.

In the seventh group of juniors, they face Slovenia, Switzerland, Israel and Scotland. In the sixth group of girls, she will find in front of her Croatia, Lithuania and Wales.

Except for Tzenidis, who is leaving from Thessaloniki, all the other children of the mission were at the Wednesday morning training at SEF. Kostas Madesis was mainly responsible for the last ten days for the preparation of the boys in the faleri stadium, Christos Tsarsitalides also helped, while the women’s federal coach, Giorgos Karytsas, supervised the girls’ training in the same room.
