In the Copa America final, Colombia prevailed with 10 players from Uruguay

Led by James RodriguezColombia managed to win (1-0) with 10 Uruguayan players in North Carolina and advance to the final of Copa America.

“Cafeteros” are living historic momentsas they qualified for the first time in the final of the event after 23 years and they will face Lionel Messi’s Argentina, who are defending their title.

The goal that decided the match was scored in the 39th minute, when James Rodríguez took a corner and found inside the area the Jefferson Lerma who managed to score with a header.

The match had quite a few nervesafter the referee showed seven (!) yellow cards and in the delays of the first Daniel Munios was sent off with a second yellow card, leaving Colombia with ten players.

She, in fact, it is the third presence of the Colombians in the final of the Copa América, with the previous one (in 2001) being victorious, having lifted the trophy in their own stadium and being the only team to do so without conceding a goal!

Colombia going on an amazing streakafter remaining undefeated for 28 games, following the defeat they experienced against Argentina in February 2022.

Meanwhile, James became the first player from Latin America with 6 assists in a major tournament after Pele, who had done a similar performance with Brazil in the 1970 World Cup.
