Athens Kallithea FC announces the signing of midfielder Yiannis Sardelis on a free transfer.
Sardelis, 23, is a former international with the small National teams who has gone through the academy of AEK and the reserves of Panathinaikos.
Born in Methoni, Sardelis started football at the local AOPK Patista academy and eventually left to join the AEK academy where he spent a total of four seasons competing in the U-19 and U-20 teams, making two appearances with the first team – his professional debut, in which he scored a goal, against Apollon Larissa in the Greek Cup in October 2018, and a playoff match against Asteras Tripoli in May 2021.
In August 2021, Sardelis moved to Panathinaikos B, where he made 70 appearances with 12 goals and five assists over three seasons in Super League 2.
As an international, Sardelis has represented Greece with the U-18, U-19 and U-21 National teams, most recently with five appearances with two goals in the 2023 UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifiers.
