Inhabitant Karditsa and in the new competition season he will remain Vassilis Christidis, with the Thessalian team announcing on Saturday morning the renewal of its partnership for another year with the 26-year-old center.
The former Aris ace moved to Karditsa last season, averaging 2.3 points and 2.2 rebounds in 27 Stoiximan Basket League games.

“AS Karditsas JAPONIKI announces that Vassilis Christidis has renewed his cooperation and will be on the team’s roster next season as well.
The 26-year-old center continues for the second year in our team, contributing to the maintenance of the core of the last successful season.
The 2.08m tall center-power forward took his first basketball steps in his hometown, Thessaloniki, specifically in M.A.S. Mantoulidis. He then moved to Aris, where he made his A1 debut at the age of 18 in the 2016-17 season. He played in the Aris jersey for a total of three seasons (2016-2019), while in 2019 he signed for Olympiacos, where he remained for two seasons in the A2 National Team (2019-2021), until returning to the Basket League in 2021. In the 2021-2021 season 22 he started at Olympiakos and then moved to Peristeri, with whose jersey he finished the season. In the 2022-23 season, he signed for PAOK, playing in 8 league and 7 BCL games, while in the winter transfer window, he returned to Aris for the rest of the season. During last year’s season with our team, Vassilis made 27 league appearances, scoring 64 points (2.3 ppg per game) and 61 rebounds (2.2 per game).
In total in his career so far, he has 112 appearances in the Basket League, with 297 points and 231 rebounds. In the collective European competitions, he has played in 28 matches of the BCL and the Europe Cup.
With the National teams, he was the captain of the Youth National Team in 2015, which won the gold medal at the Pan-European Championship, while two years later he repeated this great success, this time with the Young Men’s National Team, winning yet another gold medal at the European Championship .
