The National Football Team is – as everything seems – finding a home. Its new management EPO looks ready to get rid of the big “thorn” of the blue and white training center, which has been bothering him for a long time.
After signing a memorandum of cooperation Federation with the company that has undertaken the project, Lambda Developmentwithout being binding on both sides.
The plan includes four pitches (three with natural turf and one with hybrid), plus a locker room (which will include a gym, storage space for the National Teams’ equipment, etc.) and the cost is going to reach 15 million euros, as mentioned by Sotiris Tabakos to News Bulletin 247.
UEFA will finance the project with an amount of 11-12 million euroswhile FIFA will give approx 2-3 million euros. Besides, the State through the Deputy Minister of Sports, Yannis Vroutsishas pledged to financially support the implementation of the project.
The specific area is at Metropolitan Park of Hellinikon (above the beach front on Poseidon Avenue). Where hostels will also be built, but which are not included in the market, but will be rented by EPO at a preferential price.
The pitches, based on the schedule, are expected to be ready in September 2025while hostels will likely be available from 2026 onwards.
