The Youth of Olympiakos they made an impressive appearance at the legendary “Maracana”, leading 1-0 against Flamengo, who, however, turned the tables with a goal at 90’+2′, winning the Intercontinental U20.
After the match, the president of the “red and whites”, Vangelis Marinakissent his own message via social media to the team’s “tweeters”, for whom he declared proud, stressing that he will never stop supporting them.

“Tonight we watched and experienced a great final against a great opponent. In a historic Maracana stadium, in Brazil, the land of football. Our young Olympiakos players played tonight in front of 40,000 fans who never stopped singing for their team Flamengo. They played with Olympic spirit and passion and deserve many congratulations for making it this far! They made us very proud once again! I have no doubt that in the future they will continue to reach heights and achieve their dreams. In our Academy the children work every day with great coaches and a staff of people who help and push them to develop their talent and their love for football.
At Olympiakos we are a family and as I have said in the past, I will always be by the side of the young children so that together we can build their future, build the future of our Club and of Greek football. Just before our Olympiacos celebrated 100 years of its Legendary history, we added to our glorious history the first European Trophies, those of the UEFA Europa Conference League and the UEFA Youth League and competed in the final of the U20 Intercontinental Cup.
