The Deputy Deputy Minister of Sports, Yannis Vroutsis, was hosted at noon on Sunday at “Action24”, talking about the new security measures at the stadiums, about the technological additions with the cameras, but also about the identification at the entrance of the fans to the stadiums.
Mr. Vroutsis referred, among other things, to an important issue that has arisen regarding the transfer of season ticketsclarifying that the new law provides for such actions, with the respective PAE being the one that will have the responsibility, but also the option to proceed with corresponding procedures.
In detail what Yannis Vroutsis said:
“We brought a law on sports violence which brings four important structural changes. One was impunity and the feeling of impunity. He closes this chapter, with DEAB.
The automatic sanctions which come with authority without any subjective judgement. Secondly, the cameras, the most modern in Europe that now see every part of the field and basketball and football.
Third is what we have achieved, substantial reform, identification at the entrance to the stadiums. Both in basketball and football.
Anyone who enters the stadium now knows that with the new process, we know their name, their address, their phone number, everything. No one can hide inside the stadium.
This process brought to the surface an issue, the transfers of season tickets. Why? Suddenly we also hear that there is an issue and I want to make it clear that the ministry of digital policy and the ministry of sports as a whole what we did was to bring an innovation called identity at the entrance of the stadium.
From here on, we make it possible to transfer both the individual ticket and the season ticket. Let me say it again, the technological process that we brought, transfers both the duration and the simple ticket.
A parenthesis opens here, there is an issue. For the first time, the commercial policy of the PAE is introduced.
That is, the companies that are responsible for the teams. The specific PAEs have a different perception. If a PAE does not want the duration to be transferred, it is its absolute right.
I will not publicly say who they are or who they are not, the important thing is that each PAE has an absolute right to implement its own policy.
The Ministry of Sports passed procedures through which individual and season tickets are possible.
So there is no issue in terms of technology and identity. We implemented a new process, I call it reform because it is really something that should have been done decades ago in our country and we are doing it with technology and digital policy with the relevant ministry.
But from now on the transfer of tickets is only in the absolute selection process of the PAEs and nowhere else.
I wanted to make this clarification public, because many people think that the ID we brought does not transfer the season ticket.
