Near East: Acquired Canadian center Ross

The Board of Directors of A.O. Near East is pleased to announce the acquisition of Julian Roche (1997, 2.11).

The Canadian center began his collegiate career in 2016 at NCAA D1 Santa Clara University, and in 2018 transferred to Simon Fraser University, where he played for three years (11.4 ppg, 6.8 rpg, 1.3 asp in 80 games ).

Julian made his professional debut in 2021 when he signed with the Guelph Nighthawks in Canada, while the following season he signed with Swiss Central and played in the Swiss Basketball League of Switzerland. There he was first on the team in blocks (19) and rebounds (168), while he was second in total points (290) and shooting percentage (58%).

In 2023, Roche signed with the Saskatchewan Rattlers in Canada, where he averaged 4.9 points, 4.9 rebounds, in 14.2 minutes of action. During the CEBL offseason, Roche signed with Paderborn Basket in the German Pro A League. While in Germany, he averaged 6.2 points, 4.7 rebounds and 15.9 minutes in 27 games.
