by

Today is election day for the EEC, as after the general assembly that will start at 12:00, the unions will be invited to elect a president and members of the Board of Directors.

THE Vangelis Liolioswho is running for re-election, is considered a favorite against him Panagiotis Fasoulawho was also a candidate in the previous elections, while Tasos Delimbaltadakis, Bane Prelevits and Takis Tsagronis are candidates as independents for the Board of Directors and not for the presidency. See here the full list of candidates

The elections will be held online and not live. Each of the slightly less than 800 voting unions will take part in four votes. The first will be for the election of the president, the second for the members of the board of directors (with the right to 12 crosses), the third for the election committee (six candidates, three are elected) and the fourth for the representative to the Hellenic Olympic Committee ( both candidates for the presidency).

16 or 17 members will be elected to the board, which will depend on whether the loser gets the minimum 25% to get on the board. By law, five or six board members must be women, even if they get fewer votes. The new council will be completed by the three representatives of ESAKE (Galatsopoulos, Lepeniotis, Dinos), the president of SEPC (Panagiotis Giannakis) and the counterpart of PSAKK (Linos Chrysikopoulos).

The results are expected in the early afternoon, while the elected administration will have a four-year term, i.e. until September 2028.
