Panhellenic Champions of the Socca League are Cometas!

by

The official mini soccer league in Greece, Socca League Greece, crowned Cometas from Thessaloniki as champions.

A two day event with 8 teams from all over Greece that managed to make it to the end had only one winner in Sef Soccer Club even if it was done in the most dramatic way.

The first season ended with a resounding success with the Cometas v Kammenoi FC final being perhaps the most exciting game we have seen in the entire competition since last winter. The Cometas or kites as their fans call them, a team with 5 internationals from the Greek Mini Football team, including both on loan from BBH, have been one of the big favorites since the start of the season. Kammenoi FC, on the other hand, champions of Patras came with the role of outsiders and came very close to the trophy.

The Patrinos took an early lead in the final against Kyrinaios, shortly before the end of the first half with a seminal goalkeeper-striker collaboration goal, but Asimakis equalized for the Thessalonians with an equally beautiful goal.

The second part did not have many phases and the teams were led to penalties. There, 7 penalties were needed to be executed by each team with the Cometas being cooler and Thanos Fouskas with the last execution bringing the trophy to Thessaloniki. However, without Kostas Glavina in the home team, they would not have reached that far, which is why he was justly named MVP of the Panhellenic Championship by his opponents, as is the process of selecting the most valuable player in the final.

Throughout the Panhellenic Championship, the assistant coach of the Hellenic Mini Football Team watched the efforts of the athletes and had the opportunity to single out some players for the pre-selection by filling in his notebook.
