Tonali’s confession about his gambling addiction: “Now I’m a different person”

THE Sandro Tonali has returned to competitive action after a 10-month suspension for illegal betting and now declares another person.

The Newcastle midfielder found the courage and spoke about the very painful psychological period he experienced in the last year, but emphasizing that during this time he worked on himself, went to a rehab center to get rid of gambling and discovered “real Sandro»as he revealed.

“Before the mistake I made (including the illegal betting) I had two lives, because I was very closed to myself and never spoke to people, not on the training ground, not with the staff“, said initially Tonally.

“Now they are completely different. Every day is different, especially with my staff and teammates, because we talk every day and we have a relationship. When I come to the pitch for training now, I’m the same person – with the athletic director, with the staff, with my teammates“, he added.

“Before these 10 months, before last year, I don’t know, but when it was different why I was another person. I was two different people. Another in my life and another in football. And now I am one man, only one. When I talk to the coach, I’m Sandro. When I play, I’m Sandro. When I go back to Italy, I’m Sandro. I realized this in the last year and these 10 months“, admitted the former Milan player.
