Accepting the relevant request of AMKE “COEXIST”the “Union” launched the integration five teenage refugees in its partner academy.

“AEK once again highlights its social face, reaffirming the motto “It’s different to be AEK”.
At the beginning of September, we received a request from the Youth Hostel of AMKE “SYNYPARXIS” (Universal Refugee Program).
“SYNYPARXIS” is an urban non-profit corporation of the Church of Greece with long-term activity in supporting applicants for international protection.
As part of its activities, the organization operates a Shelter for unaccompanied minors near Victoria Square. During this time, the hostel accommodates 30 unaccompanied refugee minors, boys aged 8 to 17 years.
Our structure employs: 1 coordinator, 2 social workers including 1 scientific manager, 1 psychologist, 2 teachers, 2 interpreters, 1 pediatrician and 6 caregivers of children.
The request concerned our assistance to give the opportunity to one of the adolescent beneficiaries of the structure, to convince of his abilities and to join the football team (in the form of sponsorship).
In the end, the Collaborating Academy “A.O Kolonos” accepted to admit five (5) children and not just one as initially requested by the above structure.
In fact, according to the manager of the Academy, Mr. S. Gavrielidis, free clothing has already been given and free medical examinations will also be carried out for the children.
This is a great movement characterized by solidarity, respect and a human-centered approach. The kids are already training with the rest and enjoying the whole process.”
