Death to Italian football with Fabio Maresca! The one known to us Italian refereewho was replaced, we remind you, at Aris-Olympiakos this year by his compatriot Luca Pireto due to difficulties in his travel schedule, while last year he whistled at the episode Olympiacos-Panathinaikos, which was interrupted by the firecracker at Juancar, suspended for a month from Serie A!

The reason? He allegedly threatened to kill an Al Arabi player during the match against Kuwait SC last Friday night (27/09) for the top national division of the Arab country, which calls experienced referees for the derby. As it happens, that is, in Greece and elsewhere.

The case has been taken huge dimensions and, in fact, Maresca was tonight 4th at Sporting-Eindhofenhowever he was replaced by Daniele Doveri.

It all happened, as we mentioned above, at Al-Sadaqua Walsalam stadiumon Friday. During the match there was contact between Kaled Al Mursed and Maresca himself. The Italian referee, convinced that the collision was not accidentalsaid in English to the footballer – according to the latter’s complaint – the expression “next time i will kill you».

After the final whistle the player addressed his managers, who proceeded to contact the police to file a complaint. Maresca tried to defend himself, arguing that his words were misinterpreted as he meant to joke with the playerwhich threw him on the pitch.

After the incident, and therefore the complaint, there is an uproar in the two federations. The Italians, as reported by the neighboring Media, want first of all to protect Maresca from any criminal proceedings in Kuwait and then not to spoil his relations with the Kuwaiti federation…
