Stressful premiere with Thetida, but “safe” for Panathinaikos in the championship!

Victorious premiere despite stress for Panathinaikos! The “greens” may have shown an excellent face in the first two sets against Thetis and despite the reaction of the Voula team, they showed character and took the victory 3-1 to the Mets starting with the “right” their obligations in this year’s Volley League women’s championship.

Thetida, however, made an incredible comeback and with Maase as the protagonist, reduced it to six (20-14) and ran an incredible streak turning the situation around and reducing it to 2-1 set with the amazing 25-23.

Thetis tried something similar in the fourth set, with Panathinaikos feeling its pressure until 11-11. There, Dragan Nesic’s team pulled away and went to +6 (20-14). But the team from the southern suburbs persisted and equalized with a block by Maase, with Panathinaikos however getting the victory with an ace by Vlahaki (26-24).
