His first grade PAOK in the League Phase of the Europa League came by fire and iron!
Although they were behind in the score with 2-0 until the 84th minute against Victoria Plzenthe Thessalonians made a complete recovery against the Czechs with ten players and with a goal of Tisundali (84′) and Baba (90’+3′) they “wrote” it final 2-2 and they got off the bottom of the standings.
In the minds of the coaches:
Formation 4-2-3-1 chose the Razvan Lucescuwith Kotarski in goal and Sastre, Kenziora, Koley and Yoni in defense. Kamara-Bakayoko were on the axis, with Zivkovic, Constantelia and Tyson behind Brandon.
The Miroslav Kubekwalked with 3-4-3having Jedlitska under the posts and Due, Markovic, Gemelka trio in the stoppers. In the center, Havel, Soika, Kalvach and Cantu were selected, while Vidra, Schulz and Andu made up the attacking triplet.
The match:
The Czechs they froze Toumba just in the 2nd minute, with Andou to score from close range after Kotarski saved a Schultz effort. However, the goal disallowed for offside.
At 7′, o Vidra missed from a good position, with the Thessalonians then leveling the score but struggling to threaten in any meaningful way.
However, in the 31st minute, o Havel sent the ball into the net of PAOK with a close-range effort, with the goal counting after the use of VAR, even though it was initially disallowed for offside.
Eight minutes later things got worse for the Northern Doubleheader as Vidra grabbed the rebound after Kotarski dealt with Ando’s shot and made it 2-0 for Plzen.
The home side looked to equalize before the break, but shots from Bakayoko and Constantelia did not worry Jedlitska.
The second part started with Jedlitska’s save on his shot Yoni who countered in the 49th minute, with Victoria comfortably holding the lead for the rest of the match. In the 65th Tyson he too saw his effort parried by the Czech goalkeeper, with things turning around five minutes later.
THE Duet was sent off with a second yellow card and gave PAOK a numerical advantage, with Jedlitska, however, saying “no” to Chalov (77′) and Konstantelia (80′).
In 83′, o Kotarsky he stopped Girkas in an unimaginable four-four and in the very next phase came what the champions of Greece were looking for!
Despodov made the cross from the right and o Tisundali nailed the ball into the net with an excellent header, giving the trigger for the comeback.
A flurry of chances followed for the home side, with Kamara (85′), Tisundali (86′) and Chalov (88′) equalizing.
It finally came, in the third minute of stoppage time, with Kamara making a header pass to Daddy and the Ghanaian redeeming his team from contact, writing the final 2-2!
MVP: THE Tariq Tisundali he came off the bench and paved the way for PAOK’s comeback, scoring with an excellent header. The Moroccan’s entry has breathed life into his side, with his first European goal in the Northern Doubleheader coming at just the right time.
The… whistle: He had a lot of work Snyderwhich was needed through the contribution of VAR, in order to cancel Plzen’s goal in the 2nd minute and count the one in the 31st minute. Duet’s dismissal was correct, while there was also a case where PAOK called for a penalty to Brandon in the first half, with the Swiss having contact with the VARista but indicating that the match should continue.
