THE Philip Petrushev returned to Belgrade to join Red Star on loan for this season from Olympiakos, making statements upon his arrival at the airport in the Serbian capital.
The 24-year-old forward expressed his great joy at returning home, while also revealing that he had been in contact with Yannis Sfeiropoulos’ team since the end of the Paris Olympics.
“It’s always nice to come home, I can’t wait to integrate into the team and help them celebrate victories”he initially reported, while he then spoke about the discussions he started with Red Star, after the end of his obligations with the Serbian national team at the Paris Olympics.
“There have been discussions since the end of the Olympics. Returning to Red Star was a shared desire of mine and the team. It didn’t happen before the start of the season due to some unfortunate circumstances, but things changed, the option came up again and we all reacted in time.”.
Finally, he talked about when he will be ready to wear the red and white of Astera again, stressing that it won’t be long before he hits the court. “We haven’t talked about it in detail yet, but I think I’ll be playing from next week.”he said characteristically.
