After a sufficient period of time without a match with Bogoria, Panagiotis Gionis made his debut for the 2024-2025 season in the fourth round of the Polish Super League and was particularly productive.
With two hard-fought wins from position 1, he led Bogoria Grodzisk Mazowiecki to a 3-2 set home win against Petralana Polonia Bytom. Thus the Polish champion increased the absolute and leads the standings.
Bogoria began her duties in Poland at the end of September. Gionis, however, first to get more rest time after Paris 2024 and then because he had decided to follow a lighter competition schedule this year, he got permission to enter the championship later. He did it now and proved to be completely ready.
In his first meeting, the leading Greek athlete defeated the Swedish Anders Eriksson with 3-1 sets. With the match tied at 1-2 for the visitors, he defeated another highly skilled Swede, left-hander Viktor Brod, also 3-1 in a set and earned a standing ovation from the hundreds of fans. The final 3-2 set for Bogoria was made by Poland’s Marek Badowski, beating Eriksen 3-0 sets.
