Triumphant in the big derby on Wednesday (6/11) for the 4th matchday of the Champions League the Inter!
Simone Inzaghi’s team was cynical and effective against Arsenal at “Giuseppe Meazza” of Milan, celebrating the victory with 1-0thanks to a penalty awarded for Merino’s hand and well executed by Tsalchanoglouin the delays of the first half (45’+3′)!
Thus, Inter, who withstood the suffocating pressure exerted by the Londoners in the second half, took its third consecutive victory in this year’s Champions League and remained at the top of the standings (-2 from the leader with 4/4 Liverpool and tied with Brest, Sporting and Monaco), while at the same time the only team in the competition that has not conceded a single goal in the first four matches!
The match started with Inter “touching” the goal in the very second minute, when Dumfries received Zielinski’s cross and shot with great force against Raya’s crossbar, while seconds later Tsalchanoglou he found space and shot from far away, just past the Spanish goalkeeper’s goal.
As the minutes ticked by, Arsenal were balancing, taking measures on the San Siro pitch and getting close to their goal with conditions Zomer. In the 29th minute, a header from him Merino went a bit out and in the 43′ the Swiss goalkeeper easily blocked a long shot by Timber, while in the stoppage time of the first half (45’+3′) a penalty was given for Merino’s hand, with Tsalchanoglou to execute accurately for the lead of “neradzuri”!
Arsenal came out strong in the second half of the match, looking for an equaliser. In the 46th minute Martinelli sent the ball into the outside of the net from a sideline position, in the 48th minute Saliba failed to score with a nailed header from a corner, while in the 58th minute Dumfries pushed a header from Saka over the line and seconds later the Zomer he impressively saved a very beautiful putt from him Havertz!
In the 75th minute, Havertz came very close to the goal again, but he saw it Bisek to counter the shot that was headed for the goal, while shortly before the end o Nuaneri shot high wide, with Inter celebrating the all-important win.
For the next matchday, Inter will host Leipzig, while Arsenal will be tested in Portugal and at the home of Sporting.
