The match started with our national team entering the court strongly and leading 11-5, before the home team found their footing, equalizing at 12-12 and 19-19 with the end of the first period with a three-pointer by Schiffer, even though our national team had earlier found itself at +6 again (13-19).

The German women took the lead for the first time after the initial 3-2, with our national team remaining without a basket for almost two minutes and giving their opponent the right to build a streak that reached 15-0, escaping with 28-19. However, with the protagonists of Fasoula and Tsineke, the “blue and white” got closer to 35-29, while Spanou formed the 39-35 of the first half.

The home team kept their small lead after the two teams returned from the locker room, until Gelich came to make it 49-41 with a well-timed three-pointer, but Chineke continued to… pull the paddle aggressively for our National Team, keeping the close to the score until and the 58-53 of the third quarter.

Greece remained highly competitive in the fourth quarter, getting within a point (60-59) thanks to a short 6-1 run with 5 points from Spanou, before the Germans escaped with 71-65 thanks to back-to-back 3-pointers by Berthold, Schiffer and Wilke. The match was a derby until its last seconds, with Chineke giving the lead (75-76) to our National Team with 44” left for the final, but in the end the German women won with the final 79-76.
