After three consecutive defeats in the league, “Union” celebrated the third pink card of the season, winning more easily than the final shows 86-75 on the Colossus of Rhodes at “Sunel Arena” for matchday 6 of the Stoiximan GBL.

With a floater by Gaudlock, the visitors temporarily reduced (22-21), before Skordilis and Netzipoglou in the last minute formed the 26-21 of the quarter.

With Skordilis and Perantes exchanging baskets (28-23), the second periodwith Flioni and Hale sending AEK for the first time at +9 (32-23) at 13′. Godlock and Perantes who had 31 of the Colossus’ 38 points at halftime (17 in the first, 14 in the second), cut it to 32-27 shortly after, with “Union” reacting and with a partial score of 10-0, launching the difference at +15 and 42-27 at 17′! In fact, with Hale’s eleventh point in the match, the difference even reached +16 (44-28), at the time when the Rhodesians managed to collect the difference for 47-38 at halftime.

The scene was similar in the second half, with his team Dragan Sakota to control the pace of the match with characteristic comfort. With him Homer Netzipoglou continuing the very good performance of the first half and scoring six points in the first four minutes of the third period, AEK reached at +14 for 57-43. It was then RayQuan Gray who led the home team offensively, with the Colossus for their part finding important solutions behind the 6.75m. in the last two minutes, resulting in a reduction at 64-54 in the quarter.

So, AEK entered the fourth and final period with a significant margin of victory. A lead which they extended at the beginning of the quarter thanks to the baskets of Kuzminskas and Bryce, with the home team reaching for the first time at +17 and 76-59 at 35′. Somewhere there, everything was decided, with the Rhodians, in the remaining time, managing to reduce to final 86-75.
