He returned to Serres, defeated the “former” and gave… breath to Atromitos o Pablo Garcia! In a crazy match, the Peristeri team found themselves in the lead 3-1 in the first 25 minutes of the match against Panserraikos, he was worried about the reduction of the score by Betancourt, but he managed to leave with an important “double” in the match 11th matchday of the Stoiximan Super League (2-3).
Incredible pace in the first minutes of the match with phases on both sides and a total of four goals, incredible Hefte Betancourtwho reached eight goals in the league and ten in total in the season, taking the top scorers of the Stoiximan Super League in Lorraine Moron.
Derby… tailgating with her Athens Kallithea FC for Panseraikos after the interruption of the national teams, the Leviathan will be welcomed by Atromitos in Peristeri.
In the minds of the coaches:
For home team Panserraikos, Juan Ferrado chose a formation 3-4-1-2. Gugesashvili sat in goal, while Karasalidis, Bergström, Hadakias competed in the defense trio. Deligiannidis and Fares on the right and left respectively, Staikos and Kaptoum the two midfielders, while Salazar was moved by Tomas and Betancourt.
On the other side for him Fearless Pablo Garciaselect layout 4-2-3-1. Houtestiotis in goal and Mundes, Brosson, Mansour and Kinney in the defensive four. Ouedraogo, Tsingaras the two midfielders, while Mihorl, Baku and Warda were placed behind Jubitana.
The match:
With the first whistle from Vassilis Fotias, no one expected the development of the match in Serres and especially the first half. And that’s because after Panserraikos’ first chance in the seventh minute, the match became… a rodeo. At 7′ Thomas took a corner, the ball reached the Karasalides who shot, o Houtesiotis instinctively repelled and o Mansoor cleared to a new corner for the home team.
However, the execution favored Atromitos, who broke away in transition, with Ward picking up the pass and breaking it to Baku, who slotted home in a 4-on-4 with Gugesashvili for 0-1.
Panserraikos had to react, but Atromitos “struck” again in the 12th minute! Corner from the left, the ball reached Munde, who crossed, the ball countered and ended up in the net for 0-2 which gave a resounding lead to his whole Pablo Garcia.
The only, now, option for the home team was to play “all for all” and at 16′ Thomas missed a great chance by shooting just wide. Two minutes later, however, Deligiannidis helped his team win a penalty, after the ball found his hand in the turn he made Kini with Fotias showing a penalty. Betancourt took over and coolly slotted the ball into the net for the 1-2.
The minutes went by with Atromitos not flinching and chasing a third goal which he found in the 25′! Mihorl from the right was marked by two players, passed to Jubitana who made a move outside the area and with a wonderful left-footed pass, sent the ball “resting” into his own net Gugesashvili for 3-1 of the team of Peristeri.
As was normal, after the frenetic pace of the first 25 minutes, Panseraikos and Atromitos, downshiftedtook their game to the center and the half ended without any difference.
Juan Ferrado, seeing that his team was lagging behind in creation, made changes in order for Panserraikos to take measures on the playing field.
This move actually helped the hosts, since in the 52nd minute they missed a good chance to reduce the score. From a free kick by Salazar from the right, Mundes put his head and sent the ball to the crossbar of Houtesiotis, while seven minutes later in a similar phase, an unrepeatable opportunity for 3-2 was missed. Another free kick by Deletic, Bergström took the header aimed at Deligiannidis, who crossed, the ball countered, while Salazar sent the ball out from contact!
What his teammates failed to do earlier, the formidable Hefte Betancourt did with a stunning goal in the 64th minute. The Spanish striker, blocked by Munde, was forced to carry the ball outside the area, raised his head and with a masterpiece, defeated Houtesiotis for 3-2 which put Panserraikos back in the match.
The two coaches shuffled their cards, but Panserraikos remained superior in the second half, without however creating any conditions with the match ending 3-2 in favor of Atromitos.
MVP: Excellent match from Atromitos for Tsingaras, who helped a lot in suspension, however MVP was the terrible Denzel Jubitanawho was very active, engaged the Panserraikos defense and scored a wonderful goal in the 25th minute of the match.
The “whistle”: In a match which was a razor’s edge until the end, the truth is that Vassilis Fotias played a very good match and went unnoticed for his decisions.
