Veterans of AEK: “Why this constant disrespect to the first team that brought European?”

We, the Basketball Veterans of the yellow-black Double-headed Eagle, representing as members of the Board of Directors of the Association of Veteran Basketball Athletes of AEK all of our athletes who wore the honored jersey of AEK, have to submit the following:

We watched with sadness the ridiculous things that happened in Patras, in the context and on the sidelines of the confrontation between our “Queen” and Prometheus. And we got bitter. And we were outraged.

And we wonder: Why this constant disrespect towards the Team, which brought the first European trophy to our country? Then, when for one night all the fans of all the teams came together to celebrate the triumph of AEK, the triumph of Greece. We and all the crowd and players of other teams showed the way of unity at that time regardless of colors and ideologies. What interests changed this?

Why this disrespect to our coach Dragan Sakota? The man of AEK’s titles, but also the man with whom they won the European trophy and won awards for other Greek teams?

Why this disrespect towards our players and especially our captain Kuzminskas, who honors our team and Greek basketball with his presence?

Why this disrespect to our world, which supports our group from its hindsight and is caused every time – every time by external factors?

Why this disrespect to the owner of KAE, Mr. Makis Angelopoulos, the man who spent a shitload of money to contribute decisively to the last 4 trophies in our history, to make a movie, and most importantly to get a stadium on the verge of collapse and at 100% of his own expense to make a gem in a degraded area?

How did all of you who are responsible for the fortunes of Greek basketball manage to get the bland owner of KAE AEK out of his clothes for the first time in his ten year tenure?

What did AEK do to you in the end? What sin pays? Why so angry?

We announce that we are rallying on the side of KAE for any action and any help. We invite all our past teammates and members, as well as non-members, as a first proof of solidarity, to hurry to the next home game of our Team. To join our voice with the followers of our Group. To support with our presence the players, the coaches, the Administration and its employees.

We are strong. We will get stronger. Don’t underestimate us who might have other plans for our AEK…
