PAOK announced Katic

Milan Katic became a PAOK volleyball player on Thursday. The amateur “two-headed” announced the acquisition of the international Serbian winger, in order to replace Leonardo Nascimento, who left a few hours ago, in the “black and white” roster.

The 33-year-old has played in major leagues, while last season he wore the jerseys of Yugra Surgut and Zamalek.

In detail, the announcement:

“PAOK and the men’s volleyball department announce the start of cooperation with the athlete, Milan Katic, for the remainder of the 2024-2025 season.

Born in Serbia on 22/10/1993, Milan Katic plays as a winger and is 201cm tall.

He made his first professional steps from Novi Sad in the 2010-11 season, being at the same time international with both the U19 and U21 of the national team of Serbia.

The 2011-2012 season found him with Vojvodina, with whom he won the Serbian cup, while gaining his first performances from the CEV Challenge Cup. He stayed with Vojvodina until the 2014–15 season, adding another Serbian Cup and a CEV Challenge Cup to his collection, beating Portugal’s Benfica in double finals.

The 2015-16 season found him in Turkey on behalf of Galatasaray, with whom he competed in the CEV Cup. At the same time, that season he won the World League with the Serbian men’s national team.

The next season (2016-17) found him in Poland for Luczniczka Bydgoszcz. At the national level, he won the bronze medal at the European Championships.

Resident of Poland again in the 2017-18 season, this time on behalf of PGE Skra Belchatow, with whom he won the league and the Polish Super Cup, while reaching the quarter-finals of the CEV Champions League. He stayed at PGE Skra Belchatow until the 2020-21 season, adding another Polish Super Cup to his tally.

In the 2021-22 season he played in Italy with Vero Volley Monza, getting valuable performances from a top league. With Vero Volley Monza, he won the CEV Cup, winning the French Tour 3-0 and 0-3 sets.

The following season (2022-23) found him in Russia, playing for Gazprom-Yugra Surgut, while last season (2023-24) was split into two parts, playing in Russia and Gazprom-Yugra Surgut in the first half and in Egypt in the Zamalek SC jersey in the second half.

Regarding the start of cooperation with PAOK, Milan Katic stated on the club’s official website, acpaok.gr: “I am very happy and excited to have joined such a big club, as PAOK is. It is my first time in Greece, however I have watched the Greek championship, knowing that the PAOK family is very big.

Those Serbian athletes who have competed in Greece have only very good things to say and that is one of the reasons why I am here. I know that the PAOK football team has an international Serbian player, Andrija Zivkovic, whom I can’t wait to meet.”
