Lonnie Walker answered whether Panathinaikos could compete with the Celtics and Wizards!

by

On Friday night (22/11), Mr Panathinaikos AKTOR was unable to continue his EuroLeague winning streak, leaving Lithuania empty-handed and the headquarters of Zalgirisin a game for the 11th matchday of the competition.

Speaking to “Basketnews” after the end of the game, Mr Lonnie Walkerwho had an outstanding performance with 24 points (5/7 2-pointers, 4/6 3-pointers, 2/4 shots), 3 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal, was asked if the Greens could match the Washington Wizards in a series of seven games, while he also mentioned the great… battle between the NBA champions, boston celtics, and the European champions!

Lonnie Walker’s statements in detail:

On whether Panathinaikos could compete in a seven game series against the Wizards: “Yes! I mean, when you have great players like Kendrick Nunn, Jerian Grant, Lorenzo Brown… They have some really, really good players that are part of this team.

It will definitely give someone a run for their money. At the end of the day, this is basketball, there is a court, there is a basketball and there are 10 players. So the ability to play team basketball and play the right way, obviously, plays an important role, especially when in the Euroleague, every possession counts. So this translates very significantly. So, honestly, I don’t know. I have no answer for you.”

On whether Panathinaikos could face the Celtics: “I wish I could have the answer. The Boston Celtics are a very tough team. Huge team, with very strong players, they are a great team defensively. It’s all about game design. If you train properly and follow your plan, do what you want to do and be disciplined, the game will go anywhere.”
