Obradovic: “We died on the floor and got the win – I live in my own world, nobody can influence me”

Partizan managed to beat Olympiakos 78-70 in Belgrade for the 12th matchday of the Euroleague, with Zeljko Obradovic to stand on the combativeness shown by his players on the floor of the “Beogradska Arena”, while on the occasion of his team’s bad start to this season, he made it clear that he is not affected by what is written or said.

What the Partizan coach said in detail:

“We played a game with a lot of ups and downs. We were soft in the third period, we conceded three goal-fouls. We had to react dynamically. We shot poorly from the perimeter. We had momentum in the last quarter, we were dying on the floor and congratulations to my players for the win.

Claimable balls are important, they give a special energy to the stand. It is important to be aggressive. There are no practice games at this level. We play on Saturday, then Tuesday and then Thursday, so we’ll probably rest next Friday. We have to take care of everything and injuries. Koprivica brought great drive and energy to the court. Marinkovic did two practices and played. He was off target but I told him to keep shooting and he was justified. I said the same to Pokushevsky.

I live in my own world, nobody can influence me and that’s what I teach my players too. Everyone has their own opinion. In this world we live in with websites and comments, people have to make a living. Everyone knows and analyzes everything.

I am someone who deals exclusively with his own part, with the coaching staff and the players. I have my own plan. Never good, never good. I don’t let others influence me. I know what I do and how I do it and I try to point that out to the players. I don’t care who reads and comments, that’s not my way of life”.
