Stoiximan Super League: AEK-Aris derby and matches in Volos and Livadia

by

Volos-Lamia

An unbeaten run of twelve matches is maintained by Volos against Lamia in both venues, after the team from Fthiotida prevailed in the first meeting between them for the Super League on November 4, 2019 with 1-0 and since then there have been five victories of Volos and eight draws.

Their last two matches in Volos have ended in draws, while in the last time they were in Fthiotida, Volos won 2-1.

All their matches – at both venues – in the regular season of the league have seen goals and the only 0-0 has occurred in the Playouts process on 29 June 2020.

Seven matches have been played with Volos as home team, with the Magnesia team winning three of them and the other four ending in draws. The home team’s victories are with three different scores (3-0, 2-1 and 1-0). Conversely, in the draws there was 0-0 in 2019-20, the next two were 1-1 and the last 2-2.

Last season the two teams met for the premiere of the league and this season their appointment is for the last game of the First Round.

In nine of their 13 games both teams have scored, in one neither of the two scored and in three of the games one of the two teams found a goal.

Levadeiakos-Panaitolikos

The history of the matches between the two teams stretches back several years, after they met for the first time in the 1962-63 season in the newly established Second National Championship, and in fact the first match in Livadia was 61 years ago, on February 24, 1963, with the two teams to leave the field with 0-0.

It has been many years since then for them to reach their first game for the Stoiximan Super League. On February 15, 2012, they met for the first time in the top division and Levadeiakos won 2-0 thanks to two goals from Soubinho.

With Levadeiakos as the home team, they have met seven times and the Viotia team has four wins, three matches have ended in draws and Panaitolikos has won once.

There is a particular variety in the scores, since only the 2-1 of Levadeiakou and the 0-0 draw have been repeated. The double scorers have been there since their first meeting, with Soubinho scoring two goals, followed by Markovski and Morar for Panaitolikos.

Markovski is a special case, having managed to score in three consecutive matches, in 2015-16 and 2016-17 on behalf of Panaitolikos, while in 2017-18 he continued his career with Levadeiakos and scored against Panaitolikos. He has a total of four goals in Levadeiakos – Panaitolikos matches, while a total of 16 have been scored in the games between them.

AEK-Aris

AEK is undefeated in its last eight games against Aris in the league in both venues. The Yellow and Black have seven wins and one draw. They are essentially undefeated in their matches for the Greek Cup, since last year’s match after two draws was decided on penalties. This season the two teams have already met in the Greek Cup, with AEK winning 1-0 on October 30 for the round of 16 thanks to Martial’s goal.

Aris’ last away win against AEK was on April 10, 2022 with a 2-1 win for the Playoffs and was part of a three-game winning streak for the Yellows that season, after winning at home for the Second Round of the championship and in the two matches for the Playoffs series.

The last time there was no goal in a league match between them was on May 16, 2021 for the league playoffs with AEK as host in OAKA.

The most goals in a match have been scored in the impressive draw between the two teams in New Philadelphia on May 31, 1981 with 4-4 (23′ Kottis, 54′ Mavros, 56′ Mousouris, 66′ Mousouris – 37′ Kouis, 45′ Kouis, 55′ Hatziantoniou, 86′ Zindros).
