Olympiacos seals qualification, AEK for the first step

Double Greek “battle” for the European Cup in handball includes today’s program.

THE Olympic welcomes (19:30, MegaPlay) Potaisa Turda with the aim of protecting its dowry in favor of 32-27 in Romania in order to seal the qualification to the “16” of the competition.

Zeliko Babic (Olympiakos coach): “It is extremely important to be focused on the defensive function, firm and patient. European matches are always a big challenge. Everything in our game must be at a high level, starting with mental stability. In the first game, we were extremely competitive and we have to do it again. We have a good chance to continue playing in Europe after the new year, that’s our aim».

Panos Papantonopoulos (Olympiakos international goalkeeper): “All week, we work hard to perform on Saturday, like we did in Romania. Nothing has been decided, everything is open, that’s why we will give our 100%, for victory and qualification to come. We expect our fans to come to the stadium and support us, as only they know. They keep doing it and push us to victory».

Earlier, AEK welcomes (17:00) Lovcen, wanting to confirm the title of favorite, taking the first step for the “16” of the European Cup. The second match will again take place on Greek soil, one day later (1/12, 18:30), but this time at the closed Ionian.
