Ataman: “Obrandovic is the history of the Euroleague – My pleasure to play against”

Ergin Ataman described Zeliko Obradovic as the living history of the Euroleague, praising the coach of Partizan ahead of the match against Panathinaikos.

The Turkish coach even emphasized that he wants to play against his opponent and how it is always a great pleasure for him to do so.

“Partizan is a very good team with a great coach, playing in a hot atmosphere, it will be a very difficult game, but I believe we have the experience of such atmospheres to fight. Maybe we will play stronger than in OAKA, because inside we have confidence that we will win.

Now, we know we have to fight from the first minute for every possession in order to win. Partizan doesn’t run much, it controls the pace, so I don’t think the score will go too high. It will be more important to attack smartly, not to make mistakes, because the worst thing in such games is to give the opponent surprises after mistakes. So we have to control the pace.”

“For me, since I started my career, it was a pleasure to play against Zeliko, because he is a conductor, he is the history of the EuroLeague. It’s always a pleasure for me and I pay extra attention to try to beat him. Sometimes I win, sometimes he wins, but we keep fighting.”
