Athletic Bilbao “braked” Real Madrid and left them at -4 from the top

They left defeated by the Basque country and stayed away from the top of La Liga n Real Madrid!

The “queen” found the… dark against the most militant Athletic Bilbao and was finally defeated with 2-1 at a packed San Mames, losing for the first time away from home in this season’s league and remaining four points behind leaders Barcelona (with a game in hand).

Real entered the match having very large percentages of possession and finding the way to the net with Mbappe in the 14th minute, with the French striker’s goal however being disallowed for offside via VAR.

After a first half without many chances in front of the two home teams, it was Bilbao who opened the scoring in the 53rd minute, when after a cross from Ignacy Williams and an unstable intervention by Courtois, Berenger sent the ball into the net for 1-0!

Real hit back, missing a great chance to equalize in the 68th minute when Agirethaballa saved his penalty Mbappewhile what the Frenchman failed to do was achieved by Bellingham in the 78th minute, when he scored from close range after a save by the Bilbao goalkeeper.

However, just two minutes later (80′) and after a disastrous mistake by him Valverdeo Gurutheta took advantage of the occasion and defeated Courtois in their 4-a-4, setting up the final 2-1 and giving the great victory to his team.
