Psarras: “We didn’t manage the wrong attacks of our diagonal”

by

Sakis Psarras emphasized that the players of Milos “read” Guasguas well in the first two sets, he focused on the errors of the Nea Smyrni team’s diagonal, he praised the advantages in the game of the Spaniards and the failed changes of the central players, he focused on the management in the third set and analyzed the “weapons” they should have in the second leg to have hopes of qualification.

In detail: “We had two sets very well, where we had a very good display, very good receiving and ‘reading’ in the block defence. Unfortunately, we couldn’t manage our diagonal out attacks, these were mistakes that cost us and that’s why we lost the first and especially the second set. Otherwise, it was as we expected, a difficult game with a team that has a good reception and quick development mainly from the center. We tried to switch a lot of center backs against our opponents, we didn’t get a lot going there.

In the third set there was one management because we have games ahead of us and we have to be smart. In the second leg we must have a better service, spoil the reception, get easy points and be able to stop the attacks from the center with good conditions of the opponent”.

Dimitris Theodosis said that: “Objectively, it was a game that was within our means, we could, if two or three things went better, win the game. However, we are not standing here, the replay is in front of us, our home is waiting for us, our fans are waiting for us and we will do our best to go to the ‘golden’ set and qualify”.
