Gos on sport-fm.gr: “Proud of how we played in the second half – Spanoulis is a great coach”

-Nigel, very big win, do you think the key is that you destroyed Monaco’s creation in the second half?

“Yes, for sure. We had to raise our intensity defensively, because we had a good first half offensively but not defensively. I think we turned that around in the second half and that was key to the win.”

-You also stopped Monaco’s game in the open field, there were two keys to the victory…

“Certainly, with the pace they like to play, having good creators and shooters, you have to tackle them hard so they don’t run you and set the pace. They have a lot of great players, but I’m proud of the way we executed our game plan in the second half.”

-How different was it to have Vassilis Spanoulis as your opponent?

“It’s crazy. I am very lucky to have been his teammate a few years ago. Seeing him now on the opposition bench is a bit strange, but I’m very happy for him because I know he deserves it and he’s a great coach.”

-You face Paris on Friday. Are you ready to stop her? Because they’re a crazy team, they’re on a nine-game winning streak…
