Olympiacos did its… duty in the match against Volos, escaping six points from AEK, PAOK, Ari and seven from Panathinaikos.
Today Thessaloniki, “Enos” and “trefoil” have away missions, as they play against Panserraikos in Serres, OFI in Heraklion and Asteras in Tripoli, respectively, for the 14th matchday of the Stoiximan Super League.
So it is of great interest that they will again reduce the difference from the top where they have been since last week, Piraeus, who are now preparing for the match against Twente in Karaiskaki.
Panserraikos-PAOK
PAOK’s victory in Serres last year broke a 36-year streak for Dikefalos, who had achieved their previous victory on November 29, 1987, with an 82nd-minute goal by the late Irish striker Paul Bannon.
Of course, only five matches had been played in between, where there were four draws and one victory for the Lions. The four draws were 1-1 in 2010-11, 1-1 in 2008-09, 0-0 in 1991-92 and 0-0 in 1988-89, while Panseraikos’ victory was in the last game of the 1990- 91 with a score of 2-1. The goals were scored by Nikolai Petrounov (28′) and Nikos Patinios (57′), overturning the lead given to PAOK by Hossam Hassan (20′).
PAOK, however, is finding it difficult to score consecutive victories at the home of Panserraikos. His record is the three he achieved in 1970-71 (1-0), 1972-73 (3-1) and 1973-74 (4-1).
The 4-1 win, in 1973-74, is also PAOK’s biggest away win against Panserraikos. The Serres team, however, also has a 4-1 victory in the 1985-86 championship, which however was not enough to save them from relegation.
OFI-AEK
In the last five games of the two teams – in both venues – only one has scored, with AEK winning four and OFI winning one. All the victories of the Yellow and Blacks are 3-0, while that of OFI is 2-0.
OFI, however, has a favorite score in its victories, since six of the 17 are 1-0, while the eleven in total are without conceding a goal. There are three with 2-1, with 2-0 and 3-1 which capture all the most frequent scores in the victories of the Cretan team. 1-0 is generally a frequent score, since AEK have also recorded four 1-0 wins.
There are only two draws in the last ten that have taken place with OFI at home, while the general balance in the results has been maintained there as well with four wins for the home team and four for AEK.
The last goalless home game against OFI was on 21 October 1979 and was the last of a three-match clean sheet streak that had been achieved in 1977-78, 1978-79 and 1979-80. In total there are four in all years, since there was one in 1969-70.
ASTERAS AKTOR-Panathinaikos
In the last ten games between the two teams in Tripoli, ASTERAS AKTOR has won four times, there have been four draws and Panathinaikos has won both times. The last of these was in last year’s game between the two teams, where the Greens prevailed 4-1 and the other on February 18, 2017, where they prevailed 5-0.
In between, ASTERAS AKTOR went on a seven-match unbeaten streak that saw him score four wins and three draws. All of those between them had goals and the last clean sheet was on April 10, 2016.
Panathinaikos has scored five victories at the home of ASTERAS AKTOR and all of them have been by different scores. In four of them, no goals have been conceded, while in two both teams have scored. On the other hand, ASTERAS AKTOR lacks variety, with five of his six wins being 1-0 and the other 2-1.
The 7th of October 2007 is indeed a historic date for the Arkadia team, since it scored the first victory in its history in the Super League and this was against Panathinaikos. The match was for the 4th game of the championship and the goal was scored by Martins.
Lamia-Panaitolikos
In the last four games, Lamia has the same number of independent home victories, with three of them being in Agrinio and one in Fthiotida. In total, they are unbeaten in the last five, since before these four wins there was a 1-1 draw at the home of Panaitolikos.
The last victory of the team of Agrinio, however, is in an away match. He had won 3-1 on November 13, 2022.
The usual result in Lamia home games is a draw, as four of their eight games have ended without a winner, while in the 2020-21 season for the regular duration of the league there was not a single goal scored in the matches between them, with two clean sheets draws, first in Lamia and then in Agrinio. In their match for the Playouts, Lamia won 3-0.
Without a goal there is still a match against Lamia at home, in the 2019-20 season. There are still two 2-2 draws, in their first Super League meeting in 2017-18 and the last time they met in Lamia for Matchday 4 of the 2021-22 league.
The two teams have also played in the 3rd National League, with their first match being on January 17, 1988, where Lamia prevailed at home with 4-1. They have never faced each other for the Greek Cup.
