“KAE G.S. AMAROUSIOU 1896 announces the start of its collaboration with coach Fotis Takianos, who takes over the technical leadership of the team until the end of the season. Fotis Takianos was born in Thessaloniki on April 14, 1969. He played basketball for Makedonikos, PAOK, Aris, MENT, KAOD and Siatista. In fact, he was a member of the PAOK team, which won the Korats Cup in 1994, in Trieste, beating Stefanel in a double final under the technical leadership of Soulis Markopoulos.
As a coach, he was a member of the technical staff of Iraklis, AEK and PAOK, before taking over as first coach at Panorama, which he led from the second national team to promotion to A1 in the 2007-08 season. He also collaborated with Rethymnon, KAOD, OFI, Doxa Lefkada, Trikala, Larissa and PAOK.
In 2022 he was honored with the title of “coach of the year” in the Basket League because he led Larissa to the top four of the championship. He has also worked outside Greece, in groups from Kosovo, Cyprus and Qatar. From February to the beginning of November he was a coach in Astana from which he resigned.
