PAOK and Olympiacos will cross their “swords” and will “duel” until the final fall, with the stake being the first title of the season, in the final of League Cup men’s volleyball, which will be held at the indoor gym T9 of Arta (11/12, 17:00).
The “red and white” as last season’s doubles will have the first say in the match, while in order to reach this final he eliminated with a set 3-1 Panathinaikos in a knockout semi-final, which counted three consecutive conquests of this title. On the other hand, “Two-Headed” is a team full of talent and with a lot of experience, which they proved in their own semi-final against OFI in Thessaloniki with a 3-1 set.
At the press conference before the grand final, the coach of Piraeus, Andre Gardini, he emphasized that his team will try to do their best on the pitch, saying:
“First of all I want to say that we are proud to be here and play a final with a team like PAOK, a team with a great tradition in Greece and in Europe, we are sure that we will give a hard game. After many injuries the team is not in the best condition, but it is showing better day by day, we will try to give our best. “In three years at PAOK, this is my second league cup final. In the finals you have the best chance to enjoy the moment, give everything and play good volleyball. And as the mayor said, may the best man win. We haven’t started so well, but we are improving game by game. We started the year with different wingers than the ones we play now. We’ve got game four to manage in ten days, but that’s professional sport and that’s our life.”
