Thetis was left with the effort. Voula’s side lost 1-3 sets to Benfica in Lisbon in their second leg of the Women’s Volleyball Challenge Cup ’16’ and, coupled with a 0-3 set loss in the first encounter in the southern suburbs two weeks ago, was left out of the third tier European interclub event.
Thetis started impressively and easily took the first set for Benfica to respond in the second.
In the third set, Thetis started well again, but the Lusitanians continued to decline. Thetis was at 22-24, but could not hold on and lost the set 27-25.
