Megarida defeated Mykonos and secured a place in the final of the UNICEF Trophy!

In an exciting game with which he opened the curtain Final 4 of the event held at the Glyfada indoor venue, the Megara team prevailed 84-80 her Mykonoscelebrating qualifying for Saturday’s final (29/12, 19:00), in which he will face the winner of the pair AS Papagou-Egaleo (20:30).

Top for the winners were Dimitris Geromichalos (21pts, 5 rebs, 5 assists), Petros Geromichalos (15pts, 5 rebs, 4 assists), Tsukas (12p, 8 rib) and Victor (11p, 7 rib), while for Mykonos the standouts were Kanonidis (22π) and Pozoglou (15p, 12 rib).

The match started with Megarida coming in very strong, building double-digit margins in their favor and going ahead with 23-11, while Mykonos reacted, reducing for 20-23 of the first period.

However, the Megara team was superior in the second quarter as well, escaping with +15 (26-41) and going to the locker room ahead with 45-36with Mykonos making their counterattack in the third period, when they managed to get close to the point (54-55 and 56-57), before the 58-60.

In the fourth and most decisive quarter, Megarida again took a “safety distance” (59-67), with the islanders coming back again and reducing to 70-71but with Giorgos Mantalo’s team having a clearer mind in the final minutes, celebrating the victory with 84-80 and being now one more victory away from it Final 8 of the Greek Cup.
