Margarita Pleuritou announced her final departure from the National Women’s Water Polo Team, through a post on social media. His 30-year-old player Olympiakou and leader of the representative group in recent years, had not been invited by him Harry Pavlidis for the team’s first games after the Olympics and has now formalized her decision to quit the national team.
“After 13 years full of matches (around 240 appearances with the national team), sacrifices, countless hours of training and moments of pride for the national team, the time has come to say goodbye to the National Team. It was a trip of a lifetime, a dream that I lived with all my soul, giving my best every time to honor my country. The eldest of the three Pleuritou sisters began her career in women’s national team in 2012 (even though she had already been crowned world and European champion as a junior). He was a finalist in European Championships of 2018 and 2022, while also winning the bronze medal at the beginning of 2024 in Eindhovenhas competed in six World Championships, with a best time of fourth place in Doha last February, while also celebrating a gold medal at the 2018 Europa Cup and bronze at the 2012 World League. She completed her national cycle as captain of the team that competed at the Paris Olympics, placing seventh.
