The National table tennis teams cut their New Year’s pie

At the first gathering of our pre-national table tennis teams for men, women and teenagers for the new year, a delegation of the Board of Directors of E.F.O.E.P.A. and cut the New Year’s cake together with the athletes and the coaching team.

Before the training, the first vice-president, Evangelos Terpos, the general secretary, Giorgos Vrettakos, and the president of the Technical Committee, Katerina Spanou, visited the federation hall. There were also the federal coaches, Kostas Vatsaklis, Christos Lamis (who also took over the women after the completion of the collaboration with Giorgos Karytsa), the ergophysiologist of E.F.O.E.P.A., Christos Balabinis, and, of course, the international ones.

The three-member delegation of the new administration organized a warm mini-event, where they brought two wonderful king cakes, honey macaroons, juices, refreshments, while they prepared and offered for all present mugs with the Federation logo and table tennis designs. Evangelos Terpos and Giorgos Vrettakos made a very short greeting and wished the athletes health and success.

The first vice-president of the Board of Directors he emphasized that the purpose of the administration is to strengthen the National teams of men and women due to the fact that their survival and the continuation of intense involvement in the sport depends on their personal work.

“When we go through a first very difficult period, which we estimate will last six months, I think we will be able to support you more,” he added and announced that the two crowns in the equal number of king cakes would correspond to a plane ticket to travel to an international tournament in Europe . He already clarified with a smile that he will not … catch a trophy that will not go to an athlete.

The general secretary emphasized: “It is our pleasure that you are well. We are here because you are. Therefore, my phone will always be at your disposal, we are by your side in whatever you need.” Giorgos Vrettakos also referred to the problem with the burnt lamps in the hall and noted that the necessary actions have begun to fix the lighting immediately.

The old international also gave her wishes for a good year and then cut the king cakes together with Kostas Vatsaklis and Evangelos Terpos. At the end of the distribution, she was the only one who was left with flour. Of course, it gave the athletes the opportunity to claim the gift, the second prize was left in a piece of the pie that did not have to be cut and, thus, a draw was made for two lucky ones.

Ioanna Gerasimatou and Nikos Antoniadis were favored by the process, so they can, with the Federation’s gift, book tickets for an international tournament in any part of Europe in the future. The athletes immediately went to training and the administrators concluded their first visit to the pre-national teams after the election of the new Board of Directors with a few minutes of conversation with the technical team.
