Braga closed Benfica’s house with… Navarro!

by

Braga beat “Da Luz”! With him Fran Navarro to score on his debut, his team Carlos Carvalhal he obliged her Benfica in its first home defeat in the league (1-2).

Somehow, the “eagles” remained in 3rd place and failed to catch Sporting Lisbon in first place, trashing yesterday’s gela of the “lions”.

OR Braga entered the match furiously and froze the hosts, with Fran Navarro on his debut to score with a perfect finish from inside the area for 1-0 in the 17th minute. They even took advantage of another very good moment to go into the half with a two-goal lead, with Babu finding the net in the 40th minute for 2-0.

Benfica fought back in the second half, but Carvalhal’s side had closed down the lanes to their goal well. Even when Cabral was reduced in the 78th minute, the visitors did not panic. Anything else, since they managed to keep the great away three points and moved up to 4th place.

For the hosts, Vangelis Pavlidis played for 67 minutes but did not show much, while Andre Horta saw the entire match from the bench on behalf of Braga.
