Statements ahead of tomorrow’s (11/1) match with Olympiakos for the 18th matchday of the Stoiximan Super League, as well as answers regarding what happened and is happening in Aris, was given by Lorraine Moron.
Speaking to Nova’s camera, the Spanish striker of the Thessaloniki team spoke for team performancebut also his own, lately, for the boos from Aris fans after the defeat by OFIwhile denying what had been said and written about her his rumored involvement in the removal of Akis Manziou from the technical leadership of the “yellows”.
In detail what he said to the NOVA camera:
Starting with the game against OFI, Laurent Moron was asked to explain the team’s performance. He answered:
“There are some streaks in every team, just like we had the positive streak at the beginning of the season. Now, unfortunately we get bad results, but with bad performances. However, we are all united together and what we have in mind is to turn the situation around.”
Asked what explanation he gives for his own poor performance in this match, apart from the team, he pointed out:
“It’s true… I know that I, like the team, was not in the best possible shape. That is why we are aware in the locker room. This, however, does not change anything for the sequel. We are confident! We believe in ourselves and we know that only we can change this situation.”
At the end of this match there were boos from the crowd and after the match there was a visit of the organized fans to the dressing room and a discussion with the players. Moron was asked how he comments on what happened. He said, wishing to open the matter further:
“The only explanation I can give is that the world has demands from us. However, the world must know that we first have demands from ourselves to play well. We are the ones who always want to win! All teams have lost games this season. Certainly, if we hadn’t had some defeats, we would have been first in the standings, that’s why I say we don’t want to lose. I understand the world of the team. But I think that enough lies have been told about the team by the press and other sources. I understand people’s indignation, because many lies have been told about my person as well. That I don’t want to run, that I didn’t like the previous coach of the team, but also that I told the president that either the previous coach or I should leave.
It is normal for people, when they hear and read these lies, to believe them. I have never expressed an opinion on this matter and I believe now is the right time to express myself. I want people to believe that I don’t put myself above any of my teammates, nor above the team. We want to change this situation, because we want to give a better image of ourselves and find ourselves at a better level. Both I personally, as well as the team, give our best every day to be able to change this ugly image”.
The topic of the coach change was put more specifically to Moron, to make it completely clear what he wanted to say from his side. He insisted he was not involved:
“I had no involvement! These are all lies! What I had to say with the previous coach we said to each other face to face. Something we are finding out right now. Whatever I have to say, I’m saying it now! Everything else that has been said about me about it through the press or any other medium is a lie!”
