Tyson Fury announced his retirement

by

Tyson Fury ended his career today. The British boxer announced on Monday afternoon through a video posted on his social media his decision to “hang up” his gloves and end his career in the ring.

This decision comes as a lightning bolt for sports fans as two days ago Eddie Hearn, one of the biggest promoters – organizers of matches – in the world had announced that he had closed Wembley in order to hold another game of the athlete in the summer of Anthony Joshua with Tyson Fury, in a very British derby that had taken place in the past.

So at the moment when everyone expected to see Gypsy King once again in the ring, he decided and announced the end of his professional career.

Fury had also stated in 2022 after his match with Dillian Whyte that he would hang up his gloves, however, this never happened. Six months later he was back in the ring to face Derek Chizora.

Tyson Fury has been world champion in… heavy weight twice in his career. The former he took the belt after a fight with Wladimir Klitschko in 2015. However, he faced problems with alcoholism and not only as a result of which he was punished and forced to put a break in his career. In 2019, after three years without a fight he returned and took the belt again by defeating Deyotay Wilder. Four more matches followed with three wins and a draw.

In his last two fights he faced Oleksandr Usyk from whom he experienced two defeats.
