At the premiere of the third group of the European Women’s Tennis Championship, the national team won a 3-1 set on Tuesday Moldova and essentially touched the entrance to the first 12.
The representative band encountered difficulties, but overcame them with good performance, until with two wins of Tolio and one of Gerasimatos made the first step in qualifying for the finals.
On Wednesday, Ethniki will face Norway, which in the other match of his first group was scored by Finland with a 3-0 set.
From position 1, Katerina Toliou gave the lead to the national team. He had control over Camelia Merenko from the beginning, he was steady and, after being extended to the score, prevailed in four sets.
In the second match, Malamates Papadimitriou met the first Moldovi, Alexandra Tsiriakova. In a balanced match he reacted after 2-5 in the fourth set and 1-2 in the set, he went 9-8, but he lost three points in a row (with a dick and in the end) and the match.
Ioanna Gerasimatou was placed in place 3. It was confronted with Valeria Vierou and, after escaping the pressure of the first set, gained a lead. After 2-0, Moldovi found some solutions to our two championships-lashes and not only reduced to 2-1, but led 8-5 in the fourth set. There, however, Gerasimatou reacted greatly and ended the match 3-1.
In the next match, Toliu undertook to give the first two points to the first two points in Greece. In the first two sets he had a great resistance from Tsiriakova. He made it 1-0 in the extension and in the second set he turned 6-3 back. In general, however, he never lost the “reins” of the race and with selected attacks and quality defenses reached the final 3-0.
