Demis: “Big step for Olympiakos if they win the derby – That’s where Vitoria differs from Mendiliber”

by

The victory of Panathinaikos over AEK, as well as the upcoming derby with Olympiacos, was commented on by Demis Nikolaidis on News Bulletin 247 and the show “Fair Play”.

First, he referred to the victory of the “greens” over the “yellow-blacks” and said: “One time I try to cancel the opponent and another time I create. Panathinaikos didn’t let AEK get a chance until the 94th minute. He wasn’t on a very good day, but he was very well set and focused. He will impress me if he plays high with Olympiakos and leaves spaces.”

Regarding the upcoming derby with the “red and whites”, he said: “Medilibar will want to win because Olympiakos’ step will be big. As the minutes go by, Panathinaikos will be thinking more about not losing if they can’t win. Within a match, however, everything can change in an instant. Let’s see if Medilibar will rotate, because there will be some fatigue”.

Finally, he said about the two coaches: “I have yet to see much imagination and attacking design from Vitoria. We have seen concentration and belief in the coach from the players. First you build the defense, but then you have to look at the attack as well. Defense is 100% tactical, offense is imagination and creation, so it’s more difficult. In Mediliber I can see the plan clearly, in Vitoria not yet.”
