Nikos Eliades is the man who combined his name with the biggest successes of our country in Olympic, world and European level in Judo.
Thus, the World Federation of the sport, as a sign of the recognition of Nikos Eliades’ services, honored him with the “IJF Coach License Master Coach Award” award.
The award is awarded to coaches with an excellent career in Judo, who have achieved excellent results through their athletes. Results that include, among other things, medals at the Olympic Games and the IJF Men’s World Championships.
Among other things, a coach must, in order to be able to get the award, should have, among other things, an “exemplary personality”, holds at least six Dan IJF, have an international career, have not fallen into disciplinary offenses and have a certificate of attendance of seminars and other IJF news.
“It’s a great day for both me and for Greek judo. This honor comes as a reward for what we have accomplished and succeeded as a country in the sport we love and serve. And I will continue to serve by the time I decide to give the baton to my successors, who are already slowly taking their first steps.
Thanks to the IJF and its president for this honor. I thank the Hellenic Judo Federation for trusting me for so many years and honors me with my presence at the coaching helm of the sport. Thanks to all the athletes and athletes who have been with me in the tatami all these years. I thank my partners and all those who have put in, even a ‘stone’ for the development of the sport in our country. And I promise that, as it happened in Paris, so in Los Angeles the Greek Judo will be high. Why not at the top, “said Nikos Eliades.
