Waveseg may be the first to offer national wave pool technology for surfing in Brazil

by

Waveseg, which uses a compressed air mechanism to build artificial wave pools for surfing, emerges as a viable alternative for democratization and inclusion in the scope of projects that target artificial waves; designed with the commitment to guarantee the socio-environmental balance

Born in Argentina and consolidated in Brazil, Waveseg, now headquartered in the south of the country, in Santa Catarina, came up with the proposal to make the construction of artificial wave pools more viable and accessible, as well as sports and entertainment complexes, known as surf parks. In addition to being a powerful attraction for the commercialization of real estate projects.

Using compressed air mechanics, Waveseg produced several prototypes in the laboratory, and one in real scale, of what would be the first truly national wave pool.

With software and technologies that guarantee the reproduction of studies carried out so far on a smaller scale, Omar Modini, founding partner of Waveseg, believes that it is possible, with investment, to recreate the proposed wave on a real scale and generate waves as similar as possible to those of the sea. ; designed with robust and reliable technology that can be built with materials from local suppliers.

“We are currently looking for investors to recreate on a real scale what we have already proven in models and many studies carried out since 2012”, says Omar.

Committed to making surfing more inclusive, Waveseg arises from a dream that is driven by a passion for surfing. However, Waveseg technology goes further, as it believes it is the ideal model to not only multiply the reach of the sport in places where there are no natural conditions for surfing. As well as job creation, awareness of care for the environment and social inclusion.

“The wave is the motivation, but we believe that, with the implementation of our technology, we can move the economy, increase the GDP, generating income, moving tourism, the socio-environmental balance generating jobs and contributing to the professionalization of a chain of professionals involved with the surfing”, says Omar, founding partner of Waveseg.

The commitment to sustainability is also present at Waveseg, so that the company already envisions numerous possibilities to minimize possible environmental impacts. “Today we have alternatives such as more sustainable concrete and construction techniques, such as the use of biological filters for water treatment, in addition to managing the reuse of rainwater itself”, he explains.

“It is Waveseg’s commitment to contribute to enterprises interested in our technology in the search for alternatives that can make our swimming pool, and parks, environments respectful of people and the environment; working continuously to maintain the socio-environmental balance”, he concludes.

Women’s and children’s surfing is also the focus of Waveseg. Jucenir Aguiar, a partner at the company, says that inclusion has always been a motivation for creating the technology. “The possibility of having more wave pools in Brazil makes us see more women and children becoming surfers, or those who already are, able to improve their techniques and performances”, says Aguiar.
