Prior to the start of training, two of the leaders of the team management, Tasos Digas and Pavlos Tsakiris presented “Rambo” to the players, with sports director George Pantazopoulos and General Chief George Efthimiadis.
In his first statements as the team’s coach, George Sigalas stressed: “Everything happened very quickly. Within an hour the decision was taken by both the team and me. I will not remind me whether Hercules has a history of basketball or whether he is a big club etc .. The first thing I have learned is that people who deal with Hercules have shown who they are in society and have a prominent place, either in the society of Thessaloniki or Greece. This is just good for Hercules, to deal with such people with the club. It is a situation that comes out of work that we want to do in these 40 days. I just wish that this continues and wish it is me who will be able to go the team further”
The 53 -year -old coach added: ‘The team is good. It is Tuesday, equaling with two other groups. I didn’t come to a group that is not good. It has a roster pretty good. The kids are experienced. Haris Markopoulos has done a great job. Some things, unfortunately, do not come as we want them. At the moment I am here to get some details, which for me always make the difference and convince the players that by the end of the season they have to forget everything, as much as possible and have their minds here for them, but also for the team. This shows our professionalism. Professionalism is not only to be paid. Professionals are the ones who take care of their neighbor, their teammate, themselves and the whole team around them and we will try to do”
