A new prince in Monaco is Lado Norris!

by

Lado Norris won the Monaco Grand Prix, in a race that may not have had strong battles on the track, but offered a lot of strategic drama and interest.

The McLaren driver ideally took advantage of Pole Position and led to the checkered flag, leaving the local hero Charles Lekler, who failed to give Ferrari their first victory in the season.

The strategy played a leading role, as for the first time in Monaco drivers were obliged to do two pit stops! This innovation seemed to mix the deck, but the teams had the last word. With “group games” and a smart tactic, they managed to create artificial gaps with one of the two team pilots delaying the others to make their team their teammate!

The last step of the podium was won by Oscar Plastri, making it 1-3 for McLaren, who won her first victory in Monte Carlo after 2008 and Luis Hamilton.

A strategy of conflict but full of strategy, with Ferstapen trying to create drama in the end, but finishing 4th. Fifth Hamilton.

Lecler made a better start, forcing Norris to block to stay first. A clean start, with the first collision coming to turn 8, when Gabriel Betting fell on the wall then in touch with Antoneli. A few rounds later, Gasley struck the back of the Red Bull of Tsunonta as they came out of the tunnel, destroying the front left suspension of his car and left the race.

With two compulsory pit stops in force, the teams began to focus on tactics. Izak Hajar took advantage of the slow pace of his teammate, Liam Loson, who was deliberately going to create a gap, allowing him to complete both of his pit stops by the 20th round!

Ferstapen was the last of the pioneers to enter his first Pete Stop in the 28th round, returning in front of Hamilton but behind Piastri, thereby keeping the top four unchanged after the first row of stops.

Williams used a similar strategy, as Alex Albon let Carlos Sayin go ahead after his two attitudes, while the Spaniard had not yet entered Pete. The two exchanged positions again when Sainth completed his own Peight Stop. As the match reached halfway through, the Fernando Alonso It became the second abandonment after Gasli. Aston Martin presented his engine problems for several rounds before starting to smoke, forcing the Spaniard to leave, staying for yet another Grand Prix.

In the end, Ferstapen wanted to create a drama in Monaco, going slowly as a pioneer, as he had to do another pit stop. Otherwise he would accept a penalty of 30 twenties. This benefited Leclerc, who caught Norris, entered the DRS zone, but failed to pass him.

The Dutchman finally made the second Pete stop in the penultimate round, finishing 4th in front of Hamilton, who had a lonely race. Except Hajar, who recorded the best result of his rookie season. Esteban Okon took seventh place, bringing valuable points to Haas, while Loson’s second racing bulls finished eighth. Albon and Sainth completed the top ten, securing a double harvest for Williams.
