Heavy mourning in the AEK family, after the iconic fan of the Union and the leader of Original 21, Dimitris Hatzichristos, passed away at the age of 67.
His funeral will be held Saturday (07/06) at the Holy Trinity Church opposite OPAP ARENA at 12.00. Following the burial will take place in the cemetery Papagou.
The announcement issued by AEK for the death of Dimitris Hatzichristou:
“AEK’s family today mourns a very big loss. Dimitris Hatzichristos passed away after a titanic and unequal battle.
The founder of the largest fan movement in Greece, Original 21, had devoted his life to AEK worship and was the leader of thousands of fans who have been and remain dynamically present near all sections of the club.
Dimitris Hatzichristos was never missing from the forefront of AEK’s righteousness and had arrived to serve as president of the amateur in very difficult times in the three-year period 2008-2011. His dedication to AEK, his personality and his leading figure, are entitled to him a place among the top fighters of our beloved club.
PAEK AEK and the family of our Association are involved in the mourning of its relatives. Mimi, you will always be here. Your unique Union heart will be here and hit our home in New Philadelphia. ”
